291906 276580805709905 1557931523 n 199x300 What is the Beachbody Challenge What is a Challenge Group“As you know the P90X program is one I have done in the past but never finished. I’m loving this support system. It makes me feel accountable and I am more consistent with my nutrition and exercise. This time I know I am going to finish it! Did I tell you my brother in law is doing the workouts with me? He was over weight, sporting “the gut” and now I can see it disappearing! He doesn’t have Facebook or a computer to work with so I didn’t tell him about the challenge group… but I am holding him accountable (we are in it together since day one of your challenge group), he hasn’t missed a workout! I can definitely see a positive change in him! He had medical depression and would always sleep and not do anything for himself, always feeling negative… and I can’t tell you how much of a change I’m seeing in him. Even my sister tells me he is much more active around the house and he seems to have a better spirit and outlook! He hasn’t taken measurements or weighed himself since the initial weight and measurements but today is the day he’s gonna measure and weigh himself… I can’t wait for the results dude! I know he’s lost about 20-30 pounds just by looking at him. As you can probably tell, I am more excited about his results than about mine. It reminds me of your starfish story. “It mattered to that one!”. What you do, your progress not only financially but also physically and mentally, is a true motivation for me. Thank you.” Jazi Vega

Healthified BLT Burger

Honestly, who said a BLT had to be unhealthy?!

Though you might be tempted to try to save money by buying 93% lean ground beef instead of 96% lean, don't. Though they don't sound very different, 93% lean has almost twice the fat of 96%. One four-ounce serving of 93% lean has about 180 calories and 8 grams of fat. The 96% lean has 150 calories and only 4 grams of fat.

  • 4 strips extra-lean turkey bacon, each cut in half
  • 1 pound 96% lean ground beef
  • 4 whole grain or whole wheat hamburger buns, split
  • 1 cup chopped fresh spinach leaves
  • 4 large or 8 to 12 small thin tomato slices
  • 4 tablespoons low-fat mayonnaise

Preheat a grill to high heat.
Place a medium nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and add the bacon strips. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until crisp. Remove from pan and cover to keep warm.
Divide the beef into 4 equal portions and shape into balls, packing them tightly as you do. Press each into a patty that is about 1Ú2" larger than the diameter of the buns.
Grill the burgers for about 2 minutes per side for medium rare, or until desired doneness (do not smash the burgers with a spatula). Place the bun halves, cut sides down, away from direct flame on the grill until toasted, about 20 seconds.
Place each toasted bun bottom on a plate. Top with the spinach, tomato, patties, then 2 pieces of bacon each. Spread 1 tablespoon mayonnaise evenly on each bun top, flip atop the patties, and serve.

Indian Chicken Salad Pocket

I know what is for lunch today!!!!! This is an Indian Chicken salad Pocket. Just the way the low-fat mayonnaise is mixed with the stronger flavors to give it the richness of full-fat mayo is amazing!!! I coupled low-fat mayo with curry paste (you can find in the international aisle in most major grocery stores). You don't want to go crazy with these pastes in other dishes if you decide you like it, 1/2 tsp will do it for you!!

  • Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 tablespoons low-fat mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry paste
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 3/4 cup (4 ounces) chopped grilled chicken breast
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons seeded, chopped cucumber
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons chopped red onion
  • 1 whole wheat pita (6-1/2" diameter), cut in half
  • 2 leaves green leaf lettuce

Directions:

In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, curry paste and lime juice. Whisk to blend. Add the chicken, cucumber and onion. Mix well. Spoon the mixture evenly into the pita halves. Add the lettuce.

P90X Round 2!

As many of you know, I have started a second round of P90X. It is crazy of how far I have come since the last round last January. Last year when I first started this (overweight mind you), I couldn't do more than 5 standard pushups let alone even complete other pushups such as military and diamond.... We wont even touch base on the dive bomber pushups!!! It took 45 days for me to even build enough strength to do the workout without modifying every move! I still couldn't do a whole lot of pushups even at that point. Now a little over 9 months later, I had restarted P90X. I am able to do 30 pushups easily in all areas. I have done Insanity, Brazil Butt Lift, TurboFire and a few programs over the summer that I tossed in when I could, and now 70lbs lighter, I am back at my second round of P90X. It has been a long process, but it has become a lifestyle. I have talked to many people who are scared to start a program because they don't think they have the endurance or strength to push through. It's a mindset. I am able to do 30 plus pushups and am only getting stronger now.

The one thing that I can promise is that the challenge groups I run is what helped me start this whole journey. Most think "What can this honestly do to help me?" It has been proven when you surround yourself with like-minded people working towards the same goal, you will keep pushing through. When you have the support and tools to succeed and a coach to help answer your questions and keep you motivated, you can do what you think is the impossible. Am I an expert? No. I worked at a gym for 4 years thinking I knew everything; I didn't. I had no idea what to do with the equipment that was offered to me free of use! After having 3 kids and being a stay at home, I thought it was easy to pop in a program and workout at home. Thing is, nutrition plays a huge role in the weight loss department. It's confusing and frustrating. When I started P90X last year, the only way I got through it was doing a Challenge group to push myself with others and had all the tools available to me on what I was really supposed to be doing.

When I have people come to me saying it's too expensive, it really boggles my mind. How is it expensive? You get the program of your choice, the Shakeology and a club membership to Team Beachbody where you can schedule your workouts and have meal plans created to tailor your needs!! How much would you spend if you were going to go to a gym, pay for a membership, a personal trainer to tell you what to do and a nutritional specialist to create your meals for you?! A lot!! If you didn't go with a personal trainer and a nutritional specialist, you still just paid for a gym membership with a lot of options of equipment, but if you don't know how to use it properly and create a game plan to see results, you aren't going to get very far. The other route is to study and research what to do at the gym, but that's time consuming. If you want to do something now and achieve your goals, this is the best deal for you! Shakeology is something I drink daily. Why? It's the healthiest meal of the day (look at the ingredients), it curves my cravings for sweets and has helped me lose a ton of weight alone!! It comes out to $3 a day (I can help you get the 25% discount) and in all reality, I was paying more for my coffee that I was addicted to and medications I was on in the past for kidney infections and my breakfast alone in the past costed more than $3! I did go on Shakeology at first knowing there was the bottom of the bag guarantee where I could get my money back, but after being on it for months now, I will never consider going off. I hate veggies and this makes the process so much easier because I am getting it in Shakeology! With that being said, the lowest Challenge Pack is $160, look what all you get with that?!

Now back to the programs. When I started last year, I thought I would give it my all for 90 days and if I could reach my goal weight, I would quit and go back to eating whatever I wanted. Obviously that didn't happen because it was a snowball effect on my results and I couldn't stop! I just kept losing more weight and toning in areas that I thought were impossible. Seriously, I had 3 kids!! I never thought I could have the stomach that I have now! I never even thought it was possible to have this stomach in high school! The depression has subsided and I can now run around with my kids and for once be happy with who I am. Isn't that what we all want?!

Again, I'm not an expert and not a personal trainer. All I know is what has worked for me and my progress that I have made with these programs. There are many coaches out there that just want to say they are coaching someone. Not me. I could care less if you buy a program from me. I just want to help you achieve your results and be there as a friend and encourage you every step of the way. I want to make sure whatever workout program you have is not going to end up on the shelf and sit there collecting dust. It's no fun sitting there every day wishing that some magical pill will land in your hands and change your life. If I can do this, so can you! I never thought I could do 30 pushups. I never thought in all honesty I could do 2! If you want my help, you have to let me know so I can talk to you and come up with a solution to get you on the right track.

Apple Pie Overnight Oats

Apple Pie Overnight Oats

Ingredients
1/2 cup oats
1/4 cup almond milk (more if you like your oatmeal more liquid-y)
2 heaping tbsp no sugar added applesauce
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
cinnamon to taste
apple pie seasoning to taste

Directions
You know the drill- combine everything the night before and cover!
Note: You can omit the protein powder and almond milk and use 3/4 cup liquid egg whites. In this case you may want to add more sweetener.

These are my new go-to as I make an attempt to start weaning myself off the pumpkin. {gasp!} Probably not going to happen.

Why I became a Beachbody Coach

I'm sure if you are reading this, you have probably read about who I am and my story. However, I never really touched base as to why I joined Beachbody and wanted to coach. I have found that I share my inspirations every day with people I may or may not know. I want to help others as others have helped me figure out who I am. I have struggled with low self esteem and self confidence issues. After finding my voice and finding out who I stand for, I knew I had to help others. There are coaches out there that just want to go into coaching for reasons that they don't even understand.

My family has struggled with debt due to the fact I can't work because we simply can not afford daycare for our 3 children. I have tried everything down to being a person who sold Avon. I found that the passion just wasn't there. I couldn't relate to makeup if my life depended on it!! After being involved in Beachbody for over a year, I found that I am already helping people so why not make money while doing so?

Coaching has led me to meet amazing new people that have become good friends of mine. I was able to build my self confidence in myself and put everything I had into helping others. Why not? Beachbody helped me reach my fitness goals!!

Sure the money is great, but at least I have a job where I can share what I'm passionate about and watch people continue their journey and then grow to do what I am doing. This company represents change. Change personally and change for the future as a whole.

To be able to share what I have learned with others while helping my family out financially has been something I could have never have dreamed of. You can't go into this job thinking you are going to make a quick buck, but if you are passionate about what you are doing and want to make a difference in others lives, you will succeed.

If you or anyone else would be interested in joining the team to spread the word on health and fitness, let me know and I can help you become financially independent by sharing your story and your passion.

How does the saying go? With the good, comes the bad? or is it With the bad, comes the good?

Either way, my life seems to be evening out lately with both bad and good.

I made cauliflower mashed potatoes tonight and they are so yummy. So, this is good.

All you have to do is steam your cauliflower and then put it in your blender with pepper, garlic and a splash of almond milk.

This is not only a great recipe for those of you following Beachbody's workouts, but also an awesome idea to get your kids to eat their veggies ;0)

Which Brazil Butt lift workout schedule should I follow?

Which Brazil Butt Lift Workout Schedule should I follow?!

All bootys are NOT the same! So fitness programs should not all be the same for everybooty (hehe) Whether you are a pancake, sponge bob or wide load- Brazil Butt Liftoffers a workout schedule to fit your shape and your goal.

I love Oxygen Magazine! and I've pinned a million hot fit bods on Pinterest but sometimes I worry that too many women are setting up unrealistic expectations for their body type.
As you are setting your goals, don't wish you have "so and so's" body. Set your goal to have YOUR BEST BODY!
So let's get to work!

There are 4 common types of butts

1. Too Flat or Square

Shape: The flat fanny lacks shape and volume. This butt needs some POW! If you are this type, your straight shape extends from the waist to the thighs with no curves.
Solution: You will follow the "Lift & Shape" schedule. This schedule will help you shape and tone all of the butt muscles for a "volumizing" result! Follow this plan to get rounder and firmer!

2. Pear Shape

Shape: You are CURVY! which is a good thing but a little too big below the hips and a little bit out of proportion. Larger hips & stubborn saddlebags that stick out to the side give you a wide-angle silhouette.
Solution:  You will follow the "Slim & Shape" schedule. This is going to deliver the optimal combo of cardio and toning work. Leandro's signature Brazilian dance moves will slim those bulges while the toning moves with shape the muscles underneath so your butt rounds out BEHIND you, not to the sides.

3. Too Big

Shape: While your booty is round & full, it's too heavy and busts  ou in the wrong places. Usually flabby and dimply, it's a little too much of a good thing.
Solution: You already have the volume- you just want to slim down and tame the beast. Follow the "Slim & Lift" schedule. Get a little better shape! This schedule will burn fat and lean out the bulges. You'll shape your booty in all of the right places.

4. Combination

Shape: Can't figure out what shape you have? Or maybe you are a lil of ALL of the above? All you need is to remove part of the fat and get some shapely toned muscles to add oomph to your backside.
Solution: You'll follow the "Classic" Schedule for the ultimate booty-beautifying results. You'll work everything in balance to create a bootylicious butt!

So what is this workout all about?

Do you hold yourself back because you’re afraid that the outcome will somehow be negative?

-Reduce the time you are exposed to negativity and negative people
-Stop putting yourself down. Affirm that anything you desire is possible, and it will BE possible – even if you don’t have all the technical skills (with the right attitude, you can learn them).
-Believe in yourself and what you can do! You are stronger than you think!
